I read this comic reprinted in Weird Wonder Tales #7, December 1974. Credits are not given.

Another hop back in time. Dr. Nagan isn’t actually called Gorilla Man here. That moniker will come later. But it seemed a worthy flashback so we can keep straight Marvel’s three gorilla men.

It will take until 1980 for Marvel to introduce its first Gorilla Girl, after introducing 3 Gorilla Men over the previous 26 years. Chalk it up to our society’s gender inequality.

Dr. Nagan is not a mad scientist like we have seen before. He seems to be an actual scientist, just one more concerned with money than animal rights. We see him test interspecies organ transplants with animals before embarking on his experiments to transfer healthy ape organs into humans. But the apes have other ideas. They have the superior bodies; we have the superior brains. So they force Dr. Nagan to start transplanting human heads onto apes–beginning with his own!

He’s just trying to help people… who happen to be rich.

Is it a man with the body of a gorilla or a gorilla with the head of a man??
