You are too conspicuous, walking around the city in that manner! Find the nearest clothing store…

In Avengers #17, the Avengers search for the Hulk, and end up vaguely near him, but not meeting him. But it’s sort of a crossover. Not really, but sort of.
In this issue, Namor is searching for Hulk, because he’s been brainwashed by Number One of the former Secret Empire, who wants revenge on Hulk for destroying the Secret Empire. Even though Hulk has never met the Secret Empire and had nothing whatsoever to do with their demise.

I would suggest the writer of the Namor stories hasn’t been reading the Hulk stories, but both series are allegedly written by Stan Lee.
Hulk has been sighted in New York. He was on a mountaintop in the Southwest when we last saw him.

I’m always curious just how tough all the superheroes are. Are they bulletproof, etc? This is often inconsistently portrayed. It’s nice when we get some facts. The narrator tells us Namor is not bulletproof, but his skin is tough, too tough for a .45 to break.

Namor is ordered to steal some clothes to be more inconspicuous. I guess people keep staring at the guy in speedos.

He’s supposed to be looking for the Hulk. A cinema showing newsreels of the Hulk is close enough, I guess.

The editor’s note reminds us Namor battled Hulk in Avengers #3 when Hulk was an Avenger. Hulk was not an Avenger in issue 3; he had already resigned. Hulk and Namor teamed up against the Avengers in that issue.
Namor takes his clothes off again. Typical.

Krang shows up to blast Namor. And this blast restores his memory. The last one took it away.

An entire issue building up to a fight between Namor and the Hulk that never happens.
Boo. Boo, I say.

Anyways, Namor and Hulk don’t meet, but end up vaguely near each other. This is still sort of a crossover with the Hulk story. Not really, but sort of.
Let’s take a look at the bulletin.

Lots of notes about tie-in media. Novels, records, and animated series featuring Marvel characters coming soon.
